2016 TORC PRO MOD UTV Champion

At the age of four, Poynter began competing in AMA motocross. After breaking thirteen bones in nine months he decided it was time for a career change. Poynter was introduced to GNCC UTV racing in 2012 and burst onto the scene with six top ten finishes and a podium finish in his second race. Season one and a championship earned him factory support. In 2015, Poynter dominated GNCC Round One, finishing 1 minute, 47 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. It was the largest margin ever recorded in GNCC history.

Poynter is known for his raw speed and aggressive driving style. In five seasons of side-by-side racing he has completed 30 top-ten finishes, 25 top-five finishes, 23 podium finishes, six wins and two national championships—including 2015 WEXCR and 2016 TORC Series.

"TORC is the only form of UTV racing where you go head to head with the best in the world. No time adjustments, no checkpoints, no short cuts, just old fashioned door to door racing."
