2016 marks PRO 2WD driver Steele’s 19th season of off-road racing competition.

Steele’s roots in dirt racing go back to his childhood. He was just five years old when his parents took him to his first off-road race in Crandon, Wisconsin. He made his debut in 1997 in the Stock Truck class, and in 10 years of competition accumulated 26 wins, two class championships and two BorgWarner World Championships.

The driver moved up to the Limited 2 class in 2007 and added 18 more wins over the next three seasons. He also added two more class championships and another BorgWarner World Championship.

In 2010, Steele moved up to the PRO 2WD class, racing a limited schedule. He returned to competition in 2011 as a fill in for an injured Rob MacCachren at the Bark River event. There, he scored his best result of his PRO 2WD career -- finishing 2nd.
