Traxxas Pro Light Class Supercharged With $200,000 Purse
When TORC series title sponsor Traxxas became the naming sponsor of the Pro Light class in 2010, USAC was already offering the largest payouts in Light Truck racing. As class sponsor, Traxxas upped the ante by matching the payout to double the Pro Light purse. Traxxas has continued the program for the 2011 series, which has helped grow Traxxas Pro Light into TORC’s largest pro class with some of the closest, most exciting racing of the series.
With USAC and Traxxas dollars combined, the top spot on the podium for each Traxxas Pro Light race pays $5,000, while second and third earn $2,500 and $1,500 respectively. Even drivers who don’t make it to the podium stand to earn dollars, with payouts all the way to tenth place (see below). In addition to the money guaranteed to the top-ten drivers, there’s also an additional $1,000 Traxxas Maxx® Lap cash payout to the driver of the fastest lap in each round. That makes each race weekend worth nearly $30,000 in cash rewards for the Traxxas Pro Light class alone!
